After being “grabbed” by a liones,a member of the owner’s family lost her arm, according to a Queensland zoo, Australia. A female lion born into captivity attacked a woman in her 50s from outside an enclosure at Darling Downs Zoo in Pilton, south of Toowoomba, at approximately 8.23 in the morning, prompting the dispatch of emergency personnel.
According to a statement from the zoo, they have not yet been able to determine how the “tragic incident” happened and the woman was not in the animal’s enclosure when the attack occurred, 9 News, Australia reports.
The lion will not be put down, according to the zoo’s owners, and Workplace Health and Safety Queensland had begun a thorough inquiry. One of the animals in the enclosure attacked the woman as she was watching the caretakers.
