Puppies brought to the Sky Valley fire station in Gold Bar, Washington, United States, on January 11 may have overdosed on fentanyl, according to firefighters.
The three puppies were in respiratory distress and in severe condition when they arrived, and firefighters knew that the cause had to be environmental poisoning because all of the puppies had the identical symptoms, KOMONews reports.
The fire officer in charge contacted officers from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) to find those who had brought the puppies to the fire station while firemen attempted to revive them. When deputies arrived at their residence, they found three more very ill puppies.
Firefighter medics attended to the three more puppies after they were taken to Fire Station 54. After that, all six puppies were brought to Snohomish’s Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital.
