
The Sarasota County fire department, Florida, United States, said on their social media page that firefighters used a tower crane to rescue a person who was on the seventeenth story of a building project.
According to the post, Sarasota County Fire Department Special Operations came to the 600 block of Quay Commons on February 9 and conducted the rescue.
The post details how the Special Operations team used a crane to safely lower the patient to the ground, after which they were transported to the hospital.
The Sarasota County Fire Department Special Operations team is a group of highly trained and motivated personnel who respond to high- risk and complex incidents, that go beyond the everyday fire rescue calls.
The post said, on Feb. 9, members of the SCFD Special Operations team were called to the 600 block of Quay Commons where their quick thinking and intricate training helped them utilize a crane on site to bring a patient safely to the ground from the 17th floor of a building under construction. SCFD crews on the ground quickly transported the patient to the hospital for additional care.
