

The Karnataka government is the first state in India to create a dedicated, real-time cybercrime response and intelligence hub, having formed India’s first Cyber Command Unit in an innovative move to combat the growing threat of digital fraud.
The Cyber Crime Division of the Karnataka Police recently established a state-of-the-art Command Unit to address the growing sophistication and volume of cyber threats that impact governmental institutions, businesses, and citizens.
The new unit has state-of-the-art infrastructure and capabilities, such as cyber Forensic Lab for the investigation of digital evidence, round-the-clock monitoring,incident response Advanced Data Analytics for threat intelligence.24/7 Assistance for Victims with the 1930 National Cybercrime Hotline,collaboration with tech firms, financial platforms.According to Cyber Command Unit,victims will receive clear guidance from professionals on how to safeguard accounts, stop fraudulent transactions, and file official complaints.
With its headquarters located in the CID building on Palace Road, Bangaluru,the Cyber Command Centre is prepared to handle a variety of cyber threats.Among these include ransomware, identity theft, sextortion, financial fraud, gambling and betting scams, online stalking, deepfake crimes, and cyberterrorism.Emerging concerns including digital arrests and Aadhaar-enabled payment frauds, which have recently used fraudulent means to target victims,also be covered.
