
On January 21, an investigative team and a police dog in Hua Hin, Thailand, received 30,000 baht for their quick capture of a murder suspect connected to the death of a hotel employee.
At Prachuap Khiri Khan’s Hua Hin Police Station, the prize was presented. The K9 unit and its star member, Praewa, received the $100,000 prize from Hua Hin police superintendent Police Colonel Kampanat Na Wichai and provincial police chief Police Major General Artorn Chinthong in recognition of their contribution to the suspect’s detention The Thaiger reports.
The suspect, Sam, is accused of killing a young female hotel employee during a robbery in Hua Hin. Praewa, a K9 dog trained to aid in criminal investigations, was instrumental in finding Sam.
According to reports, a part of the award will be utilised to purchase food and treats that the dog likes as a thank you for her service. To show their appreciation, the victim’s relatives also paid a visit to the police station.
