Siju Water Caves in North East India An Unique Experience for Tourists

The Siju Water Caves in Meghalaya in North East India are world-famous limestone caves formed by a massive river network interaction. The cave is located in the Garo hills and is also known as Dabokhol, which translates to ‘bats’ house’ in local dialect.The Siju Caves, located 130 kilometres from Tura, are a must-see attraction.

It is India’s third-longest cave system and is filled with water. This cave, which was founded in 1927, contains some of the world’s most beautiful river passageways. It is a stunning limestone cave with some formations.

The Siju Caves are located near the Napak Lake and Simsang River in Meghalaya’s South Garo Hills. These caverns, which are located on the banks of the Simsang River, contain a number of chambers as well as unknown labyrinths.

There is a lush forest surrounding the cave. Near the cave, there are a few spots for camping and hiking.Tourists should hire a guide if they don’t want to get lost in the network of corridors and chambers. Caving equipment is available from guides throughout the cave.The cave is is 7 kilometres long.
