They spend some time in the water and the rest of their time in rocks or logs.The name red-eared slider turtle comes from the tiny dash that runs from yellow to red around the turtle’s ears. Because they can swiftly slide off rocks and logs and into the water, they are called sliders.
Experts suggestion to owner of pet turtle,as omnivores, red-eared sliders eat both plant and animal substance. However, younger turtles consume more animal protein than their adult counterparts.Adults can be fed every two to three days, while young should be fed every day.Make sure to feed your turtle a balanced diet at all times.
The ideal habitat for a red-eared slider is a bigger enclosure with 40 gallons of water with a screened lid to prevent the turtle from escaping.
There should be dry spots in the habitat, like rocks, logs, bricks, where red eared sliders may readily climb to enjoy the sun.There should be enough lightings in the enclosure.
