
The world’s smallest monkey species is the pygmy marmoset. They inhabit South American jungles, including those in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Peru, in groups of two to nine people.
Except for its tail, which may grow to a length of 6.9 to 9 inches, pygmy grows no more than 4.6 to 6.2 inches.The females are often larger than the males.In the wild, marmoset monkeys usually only live 12 to 16 years, but in captivity, they can live up to 20 years.The pygmy marmosets weigh slightly more than 100 grams or 3.5 ounces.
Tropical monkeys known as marmosets need: ambient temperature between 23 and 28 °C ,humidity of 40–70% Marmosets may decide to go outside in cold weather, but it’s important that they may return to the warmth if they so choose. They should also not be left outside in extremely cold temperatures.Their cage needs to be clean and sanitary.
Chopped fruits, peanuts, vegetables, eggs, mashed potatoes and other foods are the main sources of nutrition for captive marmosets.They can be fed locus, crickets, meal worms, insects, and grasshoppers.
