
An incident involving the finding of a Delta Air Lines wing part on a Raleigh, North Carolina,United States,driveway is being investigated into by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The component, which was identified as a flap from a Boeing 737-900, was found obstructing a Banbury Road driveway on Wednesday, July 2. One of the wing’s most important parts, the flap increases lift during takeoff and landing.
According to WRAL News, in the night of July 1, Delta Flight 3247 made a safe landing at Raleigh-Durham International Airport after taking off from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
The airline found upon inspection that part of the trailing edge flap on the left wing was missing. With a focus on safety, Delta Air Lines confirmed the missing part and is actively participating in the FAA’s investigation.
