
A passenger was arrested by Hong Kong police on December 11 for allegedly trying to unlock an aircraft door while traveling from Boston to the Chinese territory.
A spokesperson for the Hong Kong police force told NBC News over the phone on Friday that the 20-year-old male suspect, a Chinese passport holder with the last name Zhang, attempted the crime on a Cathay Pacific flight early on Thursday and was reported to authorities.
The airline said that the flight landed safely and that neither passengers nor staff members were hurt.Police investigates the case
The CX811 aircraft touched down at Hong Kong International Airport at 4:32 a.m. local time, about thirty minutes ahead of schedule.
