The Norwegian Lundehund has double coats, a thicker, softer undercoat and a rougher, protective outer coat.The undercoat, which is thick and wooly and helps with weather resistance and general durability, contrasts with the comparatively short and rough outer coat. Coat colors include reddish brown, fallow, tan, sable, and white.
The average shoulder height of a male Norwegian Lundehund is between 13 and 15 inches, while the average height of a female is between 12 and 14 inches. Males typically weigh between 15 and 18 pounds, while females typically weigh between 12 and 15 pounds, average lifespan 10 to 12 years.
