A recent study found that Mississippians are more unhappy than other Americans.
For the second consecutive year, Mississippi’s happiness score was recently ranked as the ninth lowest in the US by WalletHub.
There are several reasons why this can be the case. A lot of the residents are overworked. The outcome was that the state had the fifth-highest number of labour hours in the country, WJTV reports.
Mississippians also have trouble finding time to work out. Nationally, residents participate in sports at the lowest rate.
According to data from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), over 43% of Mississippians reported having anxiety or depressive symptoms.
According to the most recent data from the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, the Mississippi’s residents also have the lowest life expectancy in the country.
