
An Indian dog breed known as the Mudhol Hound.The medium- to large-sized sighthound, also called the Caravan Hound has been used as a guard dog and hunter dog.According to experts,in the early twentieth century, Shrimant Rajesaheb Malojirao Ghorpade of princely state of Mudhol took initiative to improved the breed around the beginning of the 20th century, creating the royal Mudhol Hound.
Females are slightly smaller at 25 to 28 inches and 22 to 28 kg, while males are usually between 29 and 33 inches tall and weigh 35 to 50 kg.The short and smooth coat of a Mudhol Hound protects the dog from adverse weather.Life expectancy 13 to 15 years.
The Caravan, being a sighthound, requires a great deal of daily exercise and daily long walks to maintain its physical and mental health.
Despite their ability to adapt to a variety of environmental situations, mudhol hounds prefer tropical weather conditions and need a home with fenced yard but It is not advised to keep small animals in homes with them but generally their temperament is good with other dogs.
