

Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) has launched the new e-Zero FIR initiative to apprehend any criminal with previously unheard-of speed, according to Indian Home Minister Amit Shah.Launched as a pilot project for Delhi, the new system will automatically convert cyber financial offenses submitted at NCRP or 1930 to FIRs, initially beyond the threshold limit of ₹10 lakh, according to Amit Shah’s post on “X.” Soon, the entire country will have access to the new system, which will expedite investigations and crack down on cybercriminals.
Cyber financial crime related problems can now be easily reported and addressed by the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) and the National Cybercrime Helpline 1930.The Delhi e-Crime Police Station will now automatically register a Zero FIR in response to complaints of financial losses exceeding the ₹10 lakh threshold limit submitted to NCRP and Helpline 1930.
According to Press Information Bureau (PIB),in line with the new provisions of Section 173 (1) and 1(ii) of Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), Delhi Police and the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), worked together to set up a process for case registration. First, Delhi will serve as a pilot site for the e-Zero FIR process, which is the electronic filing of FIRs regardless of territorial jurisdiction. It will thereafter be expanded to include other States and UTs.
