
On the occasion of Thai king’s birthday anniversary, male elephants participate in the alms-giving ceremony to show their support for the bordering soldiers by raising the Thai national flag.
According to Channel 7 News,on July 28, the Ban Chang Trakun Saen Elephant Camp “Du Chang Du Doi” in Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province, held an alms-giving ceremony in front of the elephant camp to make merit for the King and to bring good fortune on the occasion of the King’s birthday anniversary.
The team of mahouts and all of the elephants participated in a symbolic exercise to “Send encouragement to the soldiers on the border” following the religious service, demonstrating their respect and hoisting the Thai national flag together. Love, camaraderie, and the strength of national volunteerism pervaded the air.
