Recently, a 24-year-old man has been charged after police say he went on a deadly shooting spree in northeast Mississippi.
On February 6 night, a series of related gunshots in the rural community of Cedarbluff, west of the county seat of West Point, claimed six lives. “The victims were shot at three different locations,” Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott stated during a press conference, LiveNow FOX reports.
Four members of the suspect’s family and two other adults are among the victims. The suspect’s second cousin, a 7-year-old, was one of the victims.
According to the police, accused Moore first killed his father, Glenn Moore, 67, his brother, Quinton Moore, 33, and his uncle, Willie Ed Guines, 55, at the family’s mobile home on a gravel road.
After stealing his brother’s pickup, he drove a few miles to a cousin’s house, where he tried to be sexually assaulted by forcing his way inside. Moore then fatally shot a 7-year-old girl, after placing a gun to her head.
Moore then pressed a gun to a younger child’s head, but the child was unharmed, the sheriff said, citing witnesses. It was unclear if the gun misfired or if he failed to pull the trigger.
After that, Moore allegedly drove to the Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus, a little white-frame church. The sheriff Scott said that he killed the pastor and his brother there after breaking into their home and taking one of their cars.
The last two victims, Rev. Barry Bradley and Samuel Bradley, spent weekends on church property but lived in neighboring Columbus most of the time.Authorities was unable to give a motive for the shooting.
