
Crews from Keswick, Penrith, and Workington fire stations of Britain responded on February 6 to a report of a cow in need of rescue after being stuck in mud close to Threlkeld, according to the Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service’s Facebook page.
Over the course of several hours, firefighters, a veterinarian, a sizable animal rescue team, and the farmer were able to liberate the cow by lifting it with the help of on-site equipment and human strength.
The post said,” Being a firefighter isn’t always glamorous! On Friday ( February 6) afternoon crews from Keswick fire station, Penrith Fire Station and Workington Fire Station were mobilised to a report of a cow in need of rescue after becoming trapped in mud near Threlkeld.Working with a vet, large animal rescue team and the farmer, firefighters were able to get the cow ‘moo-ving’ using people power and on-site machinery to free the animal over the course of several hours.”
