A grain bin accident in Illinois claimed one life and injured another.
According to a statement from the Hennepin and Granville fire departments, first responders were called at around 2:15 p.m. to a farm on North Avenue, just south of Granville, where a man was found with soybeans up to his chest, 25News Now reports.
Authorities said, a rescue tube, an auger, and a rescue grain vacuum device were used to save the individual. About 3:50 p.m., he was taken to a hospital in Peoria; however, details regarding his condition are not available.
Around 4:45 p.m., the second person—who has not yet been identified—was discovered dead at the bottom of the grain bin after rescue workers removed soybeans in shifts.
