Vishing, phishing, and password hacking are just a few of the attacks that cybercriminals are using AI to execute.
You should avoid from providing personal information in response to unknown phone calls, messages, or emails in order to protect yourself from social engineering scams, password hacking, AI-powered investment scams, and deepfakes. Verify that the person requesting the information is who they say they are and is from a reputable organization before answering any requests for data.
Passwords that are similar or identical shouldn’t be used on multiple websites and applications. All of your other accounts that use the same password may become exposed if a hacker manages to get into one of them.
Use a password manager instead; it will generate long, complicated, and one-of-a-kind passwords for you and store them in an encrypted format. To log in to any website or program that handles your finances or has access to your personal information, turn on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
When making financial investment decisions, don’t rely solely on social media marketing and advertisements, even if the investment offers seem overstated. To prevent investing frauds powered by artificial intelligence, always use your common sense or professional advice while looking at online investment opportunities.
Avoid deepfakes by ignoring urgent voice or video messages that need personal information or money. You should only answer calls from numbers you know. Never give your personal information in direct messaging or over the phone when you receive an unwanted communication. Verify the identity of the individual requesting the information before answering.
