At around 5:05 p.m. on March 15, the Ottawa Fire Services ice rescue team received a 9-1-1 call reporting a golden retriever that had fallen through the ice near McBean Street in Richmond, Ottawa, Canada, and was having trouble keeping its head above water.
Less than fifteen minutes after the initial 9-1-1 call was received, at 5:14 p.m., a rescue crew was able to safely reach the dog and rescue it from the cold water, according to a post on X by public information officer Nick DeFazio, CTV News reports.
Ottawa Fire Services Ice Rescue Teams rescued a golden retriever that fell through the ice into the Jock River in Richmond yesterday.
The post also mentioned how Ice Rescue technicians promptly put on their suits and carried out a go-rescue. Less than fifteen minutes after the initial 9-1-1 call was received, at 17:14, crews managed to safely reach the dog and take it out of the cold water.
