The late-night rescue effort by a TikToker to free a kitten stuck in a drain has won over hearts on social media. TikTok user @thespicyducky posted a video of herself spending hours trying to save a black kitten that was hiding in a drain.
She started her search around 5:30 p.m., according to the timestamp. After searching the neighborhood for several hours with two companions, she eventually found the kitten at around nine o’clock in the evening, The New Paper, Singapore reports.
The terrified cat would not come out despite the three of them taking turns using torches to climb into the drain.
With the help of a bucket of water, they were only able to entice the kitten out after two in the morning. After that, the TikToker named the kitten Pickle and carried it home.
She also disclosed that the couple who assisted in Pickle’s search is now taking care of Pickle’s two siblings, who had already been saved earlier.
Since saving Pickle, @thespicyducky has also set up an Instagram account called @littlespicypickle to provide more updates on the kitten’s adjustment to life at home.
Many online users commended her persistence, particularly because the rescue was completed right before a strong thunderstorm struck.
