The moment a skier was left hanging from a chairlift in Big Bear on February 26 was caught on stunning cellphone footage.
The incident happened at Bear Mountain, one of the three resorts that comprise Big Bear Mountain Resort, California, when the rider slipped off the lift, KTLA5 reports.
The De Miranda-Arce twins, ages 21 and Raizel, told media that Roula slipped on Tuesday as they were out on their third run of the day with a friend. As the carrier passed by, another skier on the ground captured the tense minutes that followed.
As the chair ascended the mountain, two other riders could be seen on camera holding the skier. She managed to reach the summit safely with their assistance, where ski patrol members were ready to help.
The mother of the 12-year-old said that her daughter slid as she entered the elevator and missed the opportunity to lower the safety bar.
