
An ancient mix of a domestic cat and wildcat, the Chausie cat originated in Egypt thousands of years ago.The Latin word for for the jungle cat, chaus, is where the name “Chausie” originates.
Chausie hybrids are short-haired, medium-to-large cats.Average lifespan: 12–18 years; average weight: 5.5 to 7.2 kg.Average height 35 to 45 cms.Either F1, F2, F3, or F4 are the lebels given to hybrid cats; F1 is a first-generation Chausie with a jungle cat as one of its parents.The three approved colors of chausie are solid black, black grizzled tabby, and brown ticking tabby.
Chausie’s have very strong legs, which give them an elevated look. The hind legs are a little longer than the front legs. These cats are strong and active.They have gold-colored eyes, high cheekbones, high-set, pointed ears, and a deep chest.
This breed is highly intelligent, energetic, and trainable.They make excellent family pets and loves to jump, pounce, climb, and chase.Meat-based, high-protein diets are important for their growth.Minimal grooming, such as brushing once a week.
