

The objective of the Blue Locker ransomware is to encrypt all stored data in order to prevent access to them.
Every affected file is given the.blue extension; files with this extension cannot be opened any more and can only be recovered using the decryption key that the thieves have.
Recently,the state-owned oil and gas corporation was the target of a ransomware attack, putting Pakistan’s oil and gas industry on high alert. This is the latest in a year that has seen hundreds of ransomware attacks affect vital infrastructure.
Pakistan’s National Cyber Emergency Response Team warns that the attackers used “Blue Locker” malware, which can infect network-attached storage, backups, Windows PCs, and cloud environments. Hackers’ ransomware, according to cyber defence experts, seems to be modelled after Shinra malware.
According to experts,Blue is a ransomware that is based on SHINRA. This category of malicious software encrypts data and demands ransom to unlock it.
Certain file types are known to be targeted by SHINRA.The aim of the advanced virus kind known as Shinra ransomware is to encrypt important data in order to block legitimate access to data kept on both personal and business computers.
