On September 5 afternoon, the New Mexico State Fair held a competition to find which pig was the fastest.

Pig races are presented by the Great American Entertainment Company at the state fair. Having participated in the exhibition for many years, the firm presents five shows daily,local TV station KRQE reports.

Every race has a distinct theme, and each competitor has a name which fits with it. Elizabeth Swine and Captain Jack Spare Ribs are two examples of their Pirates of the Caribbean motif. Smellsa is the name of one of their pigs for their Disney theme.
