
Due to their high level of endurance, American Water Spaniels are energetic dogs.Medium in size 15 to 18 inches in height (Females: 25 to 35 pounds, males 30 to 45 pounds). The coat may appear tight or wavy. Solid liver, dark chocolate or brown, with sometimes white on the chest or toes.
A very adaptable hunting dog, the American Water Spaniel may be used both on land and in the water. It’s his responsibility to hunt, flush, and recover various types of game.
The double coat of this dog is thick and water-resistant. While strolling in the forest, its rough outer layer shields it from wet and prickly bushes.
The American Water Spaniel originated in the United States and was developed in Wisconsin in the 1800s.
