A South Korean child’s handwritten apology and the parents’ official statement were displayed outside their apartment complex after the child neglected to clean up after the family’s dog. The gesture has received a lot of internet appreciation for the parents’ responsible parenting. On Monday, an article with the heading “Apology letter spotted at an apartment complex” started to circulate quickly on internet discussion boards like FM Korea. Together with a handwritten statement from their youngest child, the post featured pictures of a well-written apologies from the parents, who were only known as A, according to The Korea Times.
“Our youngest child took our dog for a walk on the evening of May 8,” writes A in the letter, explaining the situation and expressing regret. When the dog poop in front of the first-floor elevator on the way back, the child neglected to wipe it up. This information was communicated to us by the apartment management office.
“We sincerely apologize to all residents who use the elevator and were made uncomfortable by this incident,” the parent went on. As parents, we are solely accountable for our children’s inadequate teachings in the basics of social etiquette. The letter also stated that the youngster was told to write a written apology to reflect on the situation and to always take garbage bags on walks.
There was a handwritten note below the parent’s statement that was thought to be from the child. It said, in earnest but misspelled words: “I did not clean up my dog’s poop in front of the elevator.” I am truly sorry. I really regret all of the reprimands I received from my parents. From now on, I will promptly clean things up.
