Only a few meters off the edge of an Australian beach where a “seriously attacked” dolphin carcass washed up, bull sharks were sighted.
After confirmation by a drone that three hostile ocean sharks were present nearby, lifeguards promptly shuttered Sydney’s Bungan Beach, 7News Australia reports.
The sharks are believed to have eaten the 2.5-meter-long dolphin, as evidenced by the large portions missing from its decaying body.
A lifeguard ran up the beach at around 11 a.m. to alert local resident Cameron Bloom of the danger 100 meters away after he had dived in the ocean for a quick swim.
Bloom had been the beach several times, but this was the first time he had seen a shark.
