After sending a toddler home with the wrong family, a daycare worker has been put on leave while an inquiry is under way.
On September 1, a mother who had been to First Steps Learning Academy in Bangor, southern Sydney,Australia, to take up her one-year-old was informed that he was missing, 7 News Australia reports.
It was found that a grandfather had taken the wrong child home without realizing it after panicked staff checked CCTV and called parents.
The mother blames the centre and has no anger toward the grandfather.
According to the man’s wife, he was “devastated” by the mistake and couldn’t eat or sleep.
