According to Jupiter police, Palm Beach County, Florida, a heated argument over a dog’s odd death after allegedly ingesting a sex toy led to a shot being fired and an arrest early on Tuesday morning.
Beau Stuart Grant, 46, was taken into custody at his River Terrace Drive home on December 30 at approximately 4:09 a.m., according to the Jupiter Police Department. He faces two felonies: firing a firearm in public and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, WPEC CBS 12 reports.
The 38-year-old victim informed police that he had been living at Grant’s house for almost two months. A probable cause affidavit states that the two men started arguing over a number of things, including the victim’s allegation that Grant was to blame for his dog’s death after it consumed a sex toy.
As The dispute intensified, the victim claimed that Grant walked inside, got a revolver, went outside, raised it, fired a single shot into the air, and shouted, “You better get out of here.”
Fearing for his life, Ventresca fled right away and called the police, according to the JPD report. Later, he gave the officers a text message from Grant that said, “I apologize for the warning shot. But it’s not acceptable how you’re handling this.

Investigators were informed by Grant’s girlfriend that the argument revolved about the dog’s demise, but she denied seeing the gun go off. Afterward, she reported to the police that Grant looked distressed and apologized.
Grant first denied the shooting when questioned by police, but after being shown the text message evidence, he eventually acknowledged that he had fired a single shot “to scare” the victim.
