A hitman hired by an elderly man’s family in the Bahati region is accused of killing the 73-year-old man from Nakuru County, Kenya.
After an alleged land dispute, the mother and the children reportedly hatched a plan on Sunday to kill Peter Kimani, Tuko reports.
When Joyce Wanjiru, one of Kimani’s daughters, came home, she discovered her father lying in a pool of blood and began to scream, only to discover too late that the elderly man had suffered severe injuries to his head. She also claimed that her workers were unable to obtain the necessary equipment.
Police recovered two blood-stained wooden rods from the pit latrine, which they suspect were used in the assault.
According to the deceased man’s granddaughter, he had scratches on his hand when they first met him. He claimed to have simply been scratched when they questioned him, but a child informed them someone had bitten him.
The father was allegedly mistreated before to his death, and residents expressed their shock and disbelief at the family’s suspected involvement in his terrible demise.
